So Now I get to talk about what the movie Astro Boy meant to me since I was surprised as to what was in that movie in the character of Astro. I actually didn’t notice it until near the end when Astro basically has the chance to escape alive but goes back to save his friends knowing that he will die. Notice I said he will not that he might or could but he knew he would die for sure with no doubt. It was then I realized what that was like. It brought to mind John 15:13 which is where Jesus was talking about the greatest commandment and part of it was he said:
”There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
This is exactly what Astro did he gave up his life for his friends, he showed the ultimate gift of love towards those he called friends. This got me thinking about how he acted throughout the movie. When I did that I realized how much like what we as Christians should be Astro is. He is kind, caring and loving in the best way. He did all this without thinking of himself but rather thinking about others and trying to figure out who he really was. So this is only part of what’s in my mind about this movie but it’s all I can get out right now. So all I have left to say is if you have not seen the movie go see Astro Boy while you can it is well worth it and can teach us a lot about what it means to be a Christian.
